Pros and Cons of Realme Smart TV Full HD 32 inch

So I recently got Realme 32″  Full HD TV because my room is quite small like most Indian houses and a TV of 80cm is just the right size. By going with this TV I not only get the right size but I also didn’t compromise on the quality much because of its 1080p resolution. Realme is quite a new brand in the TV world therefore most consumers have some doubts about it so in this blog, I will not only talk about this TV but also about Realme as a Television brand
So let’s get started.

Pros:

1. 32″ Full HD TV:

If you try to search there are not many 32″ Full HD options in the market. Which makes this TV a unique one. It’s 32 inch which is the perfect size for most Indian households. The bezels at 8.7mm are also not very thick, the realme logo at the bottom is minimalistic. Although what makes this TV unique is the Full HD+ resolution which is very rare in a 32 inch TV. So you can enjoy all your favorite content in 1080p resolution. The panel quality is also nice considering the prize. Realme is using a tech called Chroma boost picture engine which enhances the colors and makes them pop making the overall viewing experience better. When comparing it with other 720p ready HD 32 inch TV the colors look much better. The viewing angles are also nice.

2. Certified Android TV:

Most of us use apps like youtube, Hotstar, and Netflix these days, and having a SmartTV with certified Android completely makes sense now. This TV is not only certified but also has Stock UI. So you didn’t get much bloatware and extra features like Mi TVs. Overall I like what Realme has done with the software. You can install most apps from Playstore and if you have purchased apps like MX player Pro then you don’t have to pay again if using the same Google account. Although everything is not perfect as of now especially with updates. It’s running older Android 9 instead of the latest Android 11 for TV which is not good. I think Realme should skip all this and directly release a Newer Google TV update for this TV. Thanks to Android features like Google Assistant, Chrome cast works well.

3. 24W speakers with Dolby Audio:

Realme Full HD SmartTV comes with 24W Quad stereo speakers with support of Dolby Audio. For a normal person like you and me, it’s sufficiently loud, vocals are clear and that stereo effect is there. It’s may not be as good as some high-end TVs but for this price, the audio quality is top-notch. You can enjoy all those party songs in max audio.

4. MediaTek Processor:

What Qualcomm is in the world mobile processors it is MediaTek in TVs. MediaTek is the most used processor brand in TVs but not in this price range. Most brands didn’t reveal what processor they are using but not in the case of this TV. Realme is using a MediaTek Quad-core processor with an Arm Cortex A53 CPU and Mali-470 MP3 GPU. For this price, it’s a good processor and you can feel it while navigating UI. Obviously, the UI is not as smooth as a smartphone but for a TV it’s good. Realme SmartTV also has 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8G B flash Storage which is pretty much the standard in this price range. Overall considering the price Realme SmartTV 32 inch is powerful enough for most users.

5. Remote:

Remote plays a very important role in a TV experience and the remote you get with this TV is just amazingly good. It’s minimalistic, lightweight, and nice looking. It has a mic for assistant, it uses Bluetooth along with Infrared, therefore, no need to point at the TV for use. You get your usual navigation and volume buttons along with power, menu, and home button. There are some very important dedicated buttons as well like mute button, Netflix, Prime, Google assistant, and YouTube button. I found the Youtube button very useful because I use Youtube a lot.

6. Connectivity and Ports:

In Connectivity, you get support for wifi 2.5ghz and Bluetooth 5.0. Unfortunately, there is no support for 5ghz Wifi which is okay considering the price. In ports, you get 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, 1 AV port, 1 LAN, 1 ANT, and 1 audio out port. So in the ports department, things are sorted.

Cons:

1. Software:

Realme is a new brand in the TV world and it shows in the UI of TV. It’s nowhere close to Patchwall or FireTV. There’s no dedicated section for Live TV and as it’s Stock Android there’s no free content to watch as you see in Xiaomi TVs. It takes roughly 2 minutes to start which is very annoying and Realme should add a quick wake feature like Xiaomi. Realme is also not pushing enough software updates. It’s still running on Android 9 with a security patch of April.

2. Button remapping:

You cannot remap dedicated Remote buttons which is also very annoying. As I said earlier it has dedicated buttons for Netflix and Prime but I use Hotstar and Voot more. In other TVs, you can remap these default buttons to any other app of your choice but it’s not possible in Realme TV as of now and it sucks.

Bonus stuff:

Realme as a TV brand:

It’s new for sure but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. All of their TVs provide incredible value for money. Talking about after-sale service Realme has a tie-up with a third-party company that provides services for most online exclusive TV brands like Nokia, Kodak, and Motorola, therefore, there’s no need to worry about that. Smartphones are not very different from TVs nowadays and in that field, Realme has already proved itself. They recently launched a Smart TV stick with Google TV and am damn sure that same software gonna arrive on their TVs too which will solve all the software issues.

Installation and package content:

Inside the box along with the TV you also get table stands, remote, user manual, and cells for the remote. Talking about installation once you get your TV the installation guy will arrive as arranged. You can book for installation according to your choice while ordering the TV. It will a guy from a third-party company providing installation services for most online exclusive brands. It will be a free service unless you want to mount your TV on a wall then Rs. 400 will be charged. The whole process only takes 20-30 minutes.

Conclusion:

If picture quality is your priority then this is the best option. But if you want a mature brand, best software experience then Xiaomi TVs are best for you. 1080p in 32 inches pretty much sums up everything about this TV.
